Certified Environmental Management Systems (EMS) in the plants are considered essential in order to improve our performance and achieve the goals of our environmental policy. A certified EMS certainly helps to have a properly functioning PDCA cycle ("Plan, Do, Check, Act") that leads to full compliance, raised awareness and lower environmental impact.
In the Architectural Glass Division, all AGC factories belonging to the Upstream Operations (raw glass production) are certified ISO 14001, as are the main plants in the Downstream Operations (glass processing). AGC Obeikan Glass manufacturing facility in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia has been audited and certified for ISO 14001 (Environmental Management); ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management).
